Alf's Blacksmith Shop, located in Daggett, California, was formally listed in the National Register of Historic Places in April 2025. The blacksmith shop was owned and operated by Caitlin's great-great-grandfather, Seymore Alf, from 1890-1916 and was the location where some of the famed 20 Mule Team borax wagons were built and where teams, laborers, and equipment were headquartered for the building of early railroads and roads throughout San Bernardino County, including that which would become Route 66.
